Tell us how you got your start.
"I was in a Home Decor Business for a few years and always wanted a business of my own. I sold at craft shows for a few years and a few consignment shops....but I wanted more. I had open houses at my Home and then started looking at Online Shoppes. That was it! I wanted that! So in 2005, after searching for just the right graphic artist....I found Toni from Counting Sheep Designs and I opened Cozy Cottage Gifts."
Why did you choose your business name?
"I wanted something unique and something that sounded warm and cozy, like you would feel in your own home."
Which CD(s) do you listen to while crafting?
"I actually have the TV on....but my favorite types of music to work to are Alternative Rock and Hip-Hop."
What avenues do you use to market your products ( Internet, shops, craft shows, etc. )?
"I exchange links a lot with other Online Shoppes, I am a member of Several Marketplaces and try to advertise more around the Holiday Season."
What gets you motivated?
"The different Seasons and viewing other items that are out there also inspire me to get creative. Mostly because I think its so much fun! I love meeting other people from all over the country thru their orders."
Where does your creativity come from?
"I have always been artistic since I was very young. I love to think of and try new things!"
Is there a special design or product that you have created that is your absolute favorite?
"I really dont have a favorite....My Fixins are probably one of my favorites though, they are a great seller and smell so yummy when I am mixing them."
Which items are your best sellers?
"My Fixins, Tarts, and Homespun goodies."
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
"I have another full time job and when I come home it is always fun to relax and start on something, or fill an order. It is a stress reliever."
Do you have any advice that you would like to share?
"There are many, many Online Shoppes that are out there, but each one is unique.....anyone that is thinking of starting a Site of their own, I would say go for it! But advertising is the key to better traffic and sales. Marketplaces are the best and usually very affordable because there are so many different options you can choose from."
