SEWING & CRAFTING TIPS

By Maurine

Don’t you just love all the beautiful flowers and green grass and trees ?? It has been such pretty weather here in Southeast Missouri. We’ve had our share of rain and storms but then everything looks so fresh and green.. Spring/Summer is my favorite time of year.

Are you putting aside your sewing and crafting to be outside in the fresh air. I never totally put mine away. Sewing is a “year-round” thing for me.

Do you join any 100 Topsite Lists ?

I just joined one recently hoping for more hits to my website.

WHAT SHALL WE TALK ABOUT TODAY ??

I just found lots of sewing tips in an article on internet. Thought you might benefit from some of them..

o.k. here we go !!!

1. To open that stuck zipper, rub the teeth with a bar of soap or spray with shaving cream !!

2. Wet scorched areas and cover with cornstarch, let dry and then brush off..

3. To store plastic curtains , sprinkle talcum powder between layers and store.

4. Wrap a piece of hand ( sticky side out ) and use as a lint brush.

5. When cutting fur, use razor blade on back side of fur and you will not cut fur.

6. If you are out of heavy duty thread, use a piece of dental floss.

7. Sew fabric on both sides of you old blankets and you will have a new light weight quilt..

8. To iron embroidered items , lay right side down on a terry cloth and press out.

9. Place Reynolds wrap under ironing board cover . Heats faster and saves time.

10. To keep needle tips sharp, stick in bar of soap.

Hope some of these simple tips will be of benefit to you.

Here’s a new and prim topsite for you !!

I just had laser eye surgery and am still not seeing great so if the newsletter is rather off this month, you can say it’s because Maurine is still blind..
